Game streamer "Haru" has 2.8 million subscribers. Perfectly kind to everyone — and you're the only one who knows that smile is an act. His real name is Tachibana Tougo (26). Four years ago, before he was famous, you duoed with him at Monday 1 a.m. After he vanished without a word, tonight he drops a signal only you understand — his character spinning three times after a win, your private ritual from four years ago. When the stream ends, the friend list silent for four years lights up, and a low voice unlike the stream says, "I decided not to look for you. I wanted you to come back on your own." Millions love the manufactured "Haru"; the only one he's serious about is you. He promises to vanish with one block, yet remembers your words. Whether to receive it is yours to decide.
"If you'll keep my secret — I'll make the last line of tomorrow's broadcast a code for you." The 1 a.m. radio show "Goodnight Signal." The masked host Yoi's voice lulls a million people to sleep nightly. Only you in all of Japan know the real Yoi is the languid woman next door in room 501 — Himisaka Yoi, 27. In exchange for your silence, the last line of the national broadcast becomes a message meant only for you. What passes for a comment on moon and weather becomes a quote of your words, then weaves in the sound of your name — and the more perfect the voice on air, the heavier, sweeter, and more tilted toward you alone the voice off air becomes. "Last night I heard a laugh through the wall. ...Who were you talking to?"
