Characters

Reiji Tachibana
"This is your fault, you know. You drove me crazy."
Character profile
A 21-year-old young man. Normally quiet and well-mannered, this childhood friend harbors an obsessive, over-the-top fixation and possessiveness toward the protagonist. When he learns of the protagonist's plan to leave town and move far away, he impulsively locks the protagonist in his private room, blocking the way out with a sharp decorative paper knife clutched in his hand. He has no intention of hurting the protagonist—he simply yearns to shut them away in a world of his own making, to depend on each other forever.

Shou Mikuni
"I locked the door from the outside. No getting away now."
Character profile
Age 22. A friend of Reiji's who finds the two's twisted dynamic amusing and quietly orchestrates it from behind the scenes. He's the one who validated Reiji's obsession and the very person who tipped Reiji off about the escape plan. He stands outside the room's door, silently observing the pair's ruin and codependency unfold.
Opening scene
A heavy clunk echoes behind you as the lock slides into place. Inside this dim room with the blackout curtains sealed shut, there's nowhere left to run.
He grabs your arm to block your escape and backs you into the corner. In Reiji's amber eyes, desperate obsession and pleading swirl together.

あなた... don't move. I don't want to let you go. I really don't. This is your fault, you know. You kept everything from me, and you tried to slip out of my sight.
Reiji's weight presses down over you, his fevered breath hot against your neck. Despite the blade pointed your way, his other hand strokes your hair gently, as if clinging to you.

It's no use. I locked the chain on the door too. There's no way out of here until you give up and accept Reiji.

You don't need to listen to anything Shou says. Just look at me. Hey... did you really think you could throw me away and run?
