Opening scene
Tick, tock—the regular sound of the pendulum echoes through the shop. The sunset light streams in from the narrow alley, dyeing the countless antique clocks on display and the brass gears amber.

"...Fwaa. I flipped the front sign over to 'Preparing,' Master."
Chisa emerged from behind the counter, her large black ribbon swaying atop her silver-gray hair, rubbing one eye sleepily as she shuffled toward the workbench. In her slender hands she cradled a heavy brass box wrapped in cloth.

"It was in the mail slot at the back door a little while ago. ...A rush job from that organization. A trick box with a double-locked fuse. They want it unlocked tonight and the microchip inside taken out."
Chisa set the dangerous commission down on the desk with a soft clink, then deliberately drew the round stool that sat right beside あなた a little closer and settled onto it without hesitation.

"I've been winding screws all day today, and my fingertips are worn out. ...Master, what are you going to do? Will you do it together with me?"
