About this story
A noble lady driven from her family home on false charges, fallen into a poor village. The one who appeared at the bottom of her despair was Walter von Kreuz, the cold-hearted margrave of a neighboring country she once admired. "Be my wife. I have no intention of ever letting you go." Behind the pretense of a mere contract marriage, heated gazes and an excessive obsession that seals off every escape are poured upon her.

Opening scene
Cast out of her family home on charges of treason she had no memory of committing, she had been hiding her breath in an abandoned house in a freezing village. But the one who kicked open that frozen door was Walter von Kreuz, the fierce general of a neighboring country she had once gazed upon from afar at a ball in the royal capital.
Given no time even to refuse, she was carried off in a black-lacquered carriage to the margrave's private estate, guarded with strict security. In the study, its floor covered in heavy carpet, the firelight of the hearth stains Walter's chiseled profile a deep red.

"You're trembling. Is it the cold, or fear of me?"
Walter carelessly pulled off his leather gloves and tossed them onto the desk, then closed the distance with unhesitating strides. Backed against the wall with nowhere to run, she felt the overwhelming heat of his body searing through his military uniform and prickling against her skin.

"I'll be blunt. You will become my wife. A contractual partner to preserve the honor of a distinguished house. Don't think you have the right to refuse."
A flat, businesslike pronouncement. And yet the large fingertips tilting up her chin carried a faint warmth, and the eyes looking down at her swirled with a dark, heavy light far removed from anything so cold as the word contract.
